A Journey of Civic Discovery
As a Political Science major at the University of the Pacific, Suzana Magana Gomez is passionate about civic engagement, public policy, leadership development, and helping others better understand the democratic process.
As a first-generation college student, Suzana discovered the transformative power of civic education through firsthand experience at the California State Capitol — meeting with legislative offices and witnessing the legislative process in action revealed how accessible and impactful civic engagement can be when people are given the knowledge and tools to participate.
This experience sparked a mission: to create a platform that demystifies government, empowers communities through education, and inspires a new generation of civic leaders. Wings Without Borders was born from the belief that every Californian deserves to understand and participate in the democratic process.
Why Wings Without Borders?
Too many people feel disconnected from government. The legislative process can seem complex and inaccessible, leaving communities without a voice. Wings Without Borders was created to bridge that gap — making civic education engaging, advocacy accessible, and community voices amplified.
By combining educational resources, legislative awareness, storytelling, and practical engagement tools, we aim to transform passive observers into active participants in California's democracy.
